Fear Not: “The Blind Leading The Blind” EP Review
In 1987, the guys in Fear Not were cutting their teeth in the early Christian metal scene. Now 38 years later, these guys are rocking out just as hard as when they started. In a collaboration between Roxx and Resurrection Records, Fear Not has released a five-song EP The Blind Leading the Blind. This is a follow-up to last year’s Weight of the World EP. This is lead vocalist Eddie Green’s second EP with the band as he took the mic last year, prior to the WOTW release.
The Blind Leading The Blind EP Review
Tracks: 5
Length: 19:21
Release Date: March 20, 2026

The Blind Leading The Blind kicks off with “Hard Road,” a fun southern rock jam driven by a blend of distorted guitar chords and powerful drum blasts. The vocals and lyrics are infectious and the guitars get you grooving along. This song is an energetic, up tempo start to the album, and gets you excited for what’s to come.
When I think of southern rock, it is hard to not to think of heavy hitters like The Showdown or Disciple, but the chord progression in the next song, “When Goliath Falls,” has me thinking of that good ol’ fashioned southern grit. The guitars chugging back and forth will certainly get you moving along to the rhythm. Overall, the song is explosive and energetic, keeping the atmosphere electric. The song is about facing the giants in our life and knowing that we can overcome them through the power of Christ.
These guys have been rocking since the 80s and the title track off this EP shows that they can bring the 80s to 2026 and still sound great. “The Blind Leading the Blind” has a fast, melodic tempo. The interlude features an eerie spoken word, leading into an epic guitar solo that highlights how well this band can rock out, all while warning the listener to watch out for false prophets.
“His truth splits the dark. It’s the spark when you walk time after time. Kill the snakes, eyes wake, hearts shake, my soul to take.”
Moving forward, the band doesn’t slow down with “The Devil Preys for You.” If you listen closely behind Eddie’s delivery, you can catch faint screams woven into the background. I’m not sure which of the bandmates is responsible for this contribution, but it’s a nice touch. There is a thriving bassline that chugs the song along and sets the tempo.
“You know the devil preys for you. That you’ll break, that you’ll lose the truth. He lights a candle in the dark, not to guide, but tear your soul apart.”
For this song, the lyrics are a nice touch as the message is a real one. There is a strong resonance to 1 Peter 5:8, which talks about the church being alert to the ways of the adversary who wants to seek and destroy.
This short, 5-song EP ends with the power ballad, “I Drove the Nails.” It opens with a slower start to the song, which is a nice reprieve from the intense lineup that preceded this song. The vocals have this incredible emotional push, showing that Eddie truly believes in what he is singing. It is absolutely beautiful between the unity of the instruments and the heartfelt vocals.
“I drove the nails, I raised the tree. It wasn’t Rome - it was me. My sin, my pride, my rage, my hate. Laid You bare beneath their weight.”
This was a really great way to end the EP. The overarching theme of The Blind Leading The Blind is centered around the dangers of being misled by false prophets, self-doubts and the giants in our life. Alongside these warnings is a message of hope: we can overcome the enemy through Jesus Christ. I don’t have a lot of history with Fear Not, but after listening through this EP, I am really interested in going back and listening to whatever else I can get my hands on. Overall, I thought it was a great EP and if you’re someone who enjoys a little gritty guitar and southern rock, The Blind Leading The Blind should be on your list to listen to!
